The Core: Strength and Mobility with Meredith

In yoga practice, our core helps us bend, assists in our twists and lifts us into our inversions. Off the mat, trunk stability is crucial for better posture and injury prevention.
In this workshop, we learn how to engage our core with greater specificity. By identifying and understanding the major muscles of our core and how to purposely engage with them, we can build more effective movement patterns and practices, in and out of the yoga classroom.
In this workshop we will focus on:

  • The major muscles of the core and how to engage them during your asana practice;
  • Core-activating pranayama techniques;
  • How to heat your core with highly focused drills and movement;
  • Building the foundations of an arm balance and inversion practice.

Things to bring: thick socks, pen & paper
