Grace In Form: The Shoulder Girdle

Would you like to enjoy greater health and ease in your shoulders and neck?

We tend to hold lots of tension and stress in the shoulders and neck, or even experience RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) from working on computers and cellphones. If you would like to relieve tension, create greater mobility, strength, and health in your shoulders and neck, this workshop is for you.

In this workshop, our practice will focus on our shoulders, one of the most important and vulnerable joints in our body. We will explore their anatomy and biomechanics , as well as address any issues that we might experience around the shoulder joint as well as the neck.

We will work to release tension, to create space and mobility, as well as stabilizing and strengthening the shoulder joint. Whether you experience regular tension in your shoulder and neck, or you would just like to increase the range of movement and health of your shoulders, this workshop will be a great opportunity to learn how to move your shoulders in a way that increases their strength and integrity, as well as release tension around this important joint.

you will also learn some particular weight carrying poses:
-Chaturanga
-Side plank family
-The wild thing
-Inversions

You will go home with tools to help you, and even your family friends to maintain health and wellbeing in the neck and shoulders.

All welcome including beginners.


 

关于赵榕坤(ZhaoRongkun)老师:

赵榕坤从十几岁开始在居住过的芬兰和瑞典练习瑜伽。 2011年,她成为了300小时瑜伽联盟认证的瑜伽老师,她受到过阿斯汤加,阿努萨拉,流瑜伽,气功,和普拉提的训练。近3年来,她的练习受到瑜伽苑每位老师的指导。

About ZhaoRongkun:

Zhao started to practice yoga when she was a teenager in Finland and Sweden. In 2011, she became a 300-hour Yoga Alliance-certified yoga teacher, she was trained with Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa, Qi Gong, and Pilate. In recent 3 years, she is under the guidance of teachers in Yoga Yard. She is grateful to her teacher Robyn Wexler, Matthew Cohen, Sarah Powers, Donna Farhi either by their physical guidance or knowledge from books and DVDs. Apart from yoga teaching, she is also a freelance journalist and writer. She believes yoga can enlivens and awaken your body and mind, much more than just stretching and strengthening, what we are creating in yoga is harmony and stillness. Zhao's classes are playful, fun and sweaty Vinyasa in both English and Chinese.
